I've been practicing trying to get the perfect crimson color for a friend's groom cake.... Its football themed and needs to have that perfect Alabama color.

Any suggestions on how to get that perfect color?

Also, while I been practicing I found that wilton makes a Red Red and a Christmas Red- What's the difference? Anyone know?

I would add a little black to the red to get a better crimson color

i'm an art teacher and i tell my kids that if the color is a little too bright -like too red, you should add just a touch of it's compliment which would be green. you're looking for a red that's not burgundy but also not a cardinal red right?

Green really?? I'll give it a go, I tried adding a little brown but just got a salmon color.

you'll get a deeper red with the red red. it's the one i use. you still have to use a LOT of it though. forgot to mention that.
