I just did a trial cake for one I'll be doing in 2wks and of course my family gets to eat them. I sent some with my dad to take to work and the lady he works with said that it tasted like a gourmet cake you would pay for at a fancy place with coffee. She really liked it. I have never expected that kind of comment, (especially out of her she doesn't eat cake very often at all).
It's a french chocolate buttercream cake with strawberry filling and rolled chocolate buttercream. It will also have a chocolate transfer collar on it.
I had to tell someone since I'm just starting to decorate cakes. My first paid cake order isn't until December 3rd. Thanks for listening. ![]()
Well good for you.. ![]()
Was the cake from scratch ? I'm just curious.. I do both, scratch and box.
It's the baker that makes the cake good, not totally the cake itself.
I'm happy for you.. ![]()
Congratulations! Sounds yummy. Do you mind sharing your recipe for chocolate rolled buttercream?
Thats so awesome. Compliments like that don't come along everyday so you must definately have a great cake. The recipe sounds soooo good.
Congratulations! What a super compliment to receive! And the cake sounds yummy!
Thanks for the kind words!
The cake was from scratch. All of the cake, filling and the chocolate rolled buttercream was from Karens Kitchen. There are lots of ideas for both box cakes and scratch on this site. I love it.
