New To Cake Decorating - In Need Of Help!
Decorating By Belle_Ava_mommy Updated 28 Aug 2007 , 2:28pm by Belle_Ava_mommy
Hello everyone,
My name is Jenn and I have 2 daughters - Ava is almost 5 months and Isabelle will be 5 yo next week. I have never decorated cakes before but have always wanted to; I have gotten a few tips from a friend of mine who makes great cakes but am looking for more info
I'm looking to make a ballerina cake for Belle's birthday next week. Just on a 1/4-slab but am thinking of using the star tip to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips or picture ideas for ballerinas? I appreciate any help or words of wisdom that you can offer.
TIA,
Jenn
Welcome, welcome to CC! I'm sure you will find lots of advice and inspiration here. As far as your ballerina, you could check on Microsoft Office clipart for pictures that might work. Have fun and don't forget to post a picture so we can oooh and aahhh over it!!

you can look in coloring books or look up cooring pages online and find some pics of ballerinas and then trace the pic with piping gel on wax paper (reversed) then gently press it onto your iced cake. That way you have the outline to fallow on the cake. also a FBCT (frozen buttercream transfer) would be another way to go. i have yet to do one...will be doing it this week though. if you search you will find threads on here of how to do them. hope that helps sorry i could not be of any more help.
Thanks so much...your ideas were great.
I went to MS Clipart and found something I liked - i hadn't even though of going there!. It's pretty basic for design aspect. I will definitely post a pic once i'm done!
