Thanks to those that PM'd me, replied to me today and offered up their advice.

I have done my first fondant rose of 2007! (last one was in actually... 2002 now that I think about it)

The Wilton method on the tooth pick from the course 3 book didn't do it for me. To messy, to vague, to awkward. (Don't get me wrong, their methods work for me in other ways, just not their fondant roses)

So I thought while I ate lunch... then it hit me.

I made the kiss center/flower base, then used the small leaf fondant cutter from Wilton. Rolled the leafs with their course 3 ball/pick and manually glued each piece on with almond extract.

I will gladly take any constructive advice you have to improve it.

Problem is this is much more tedious and takes MUCH longer to do but honestly it's oodles less stressful, and relaxing in an odd way. I am much prouder from this than the other (so bad I'm so not even taking pictures!)

So with that said... I'm off to make more.

Thanks again for your encouraging words! My family isn't behind me (hubby is but mom and sister... bleh to the moon with them) because they just don't see this as a profitable home business.

Hopefully this rose will tell them differently. icon_lol.gif

Beautiful! On the "kiss" part, is it the Hershey's kiss?

I think it looks great! You have to do whatever works for you. And, although you said it took a long time, it will take less time as you get more comfortable doing it.

I think it's beautiful! The Wilton method didn't really work for me either, you can see in my pics that I sort of went my own way on that part of the class. icon_wink.gif I say whatever works for you that gets you the best results is the "right" way! Great job!
