Today I received my first Kitchen Aid Pro 600 mixer ever.
Ive never owned a stand mixer let alone a pro.
I got it in that WS sale last week.

I have to bake something with it today.

I was gonna wash the mixer and bowl out w/ soap and water first- this is fine right??

I was thinking of making raisin bread first- so I can have it for breakfast tomorrow icon_smile.gif

any suggestions, tips, tricks on using this thing that you guys wouldnt mind passing on??

You'll wonder how you ever managed without one!

I got my daughter one for Christmas. She said her biggest perq about having one was that she could mix something AND do something else at the same time! As opposed to having to stand there holding the hand mixer, while whatever was on the stove boiled over because her hands were full! icon_lol.gif

I got my first KA mixer on Friday; bought it from Williams Sonoma!! I LOVE IT!!! icon_lol.gif I immediately took it out of the box, washed the tools and used it!!

OMG, Indy, I'm like your daughter, just amazed at the fact that I can mix and do something else at the same time!! icon_eek.gif

Also, dude, making fondant is SUPER easy with this machine; my DH is even mesmerized by it, he used it too!!

Thanks to the person who gave us a heads up on the Williams Sonoma sale!!

I also got mine last Thursday. I haven't tried it yet. I don't know what to make first. I've never owned a KA. I was using my mom's 1955 classic sunbeam stand mixer and it was having trouble keeping up with the royal icing and cookie dough, but I just love the mixer and will keep it for small jobs. I am very excited about my KA, I got the empire red one.

yes its fine for you to wash the bowl and beaters...follow the instructions for the mixer when making the bread...you can only use the dough hook on speed 2.

have fun....send me some of the bread when your done.
