I read earlier in another thread about people who have abusive parents.
Thanks for sharing, everyone who did. All those stories about sexual, emotional and physical abuse just did break my heart.
One never really knows how good one has it until one hears about stuff like that.
I called my mom earlier just to thank her for being my mom and to tell her that I love her.
You are a very lucky person to have a wonderful mother, and I'm glad you appreciate it. I'm jealous of you! (My mother is the nut job Borderline Personality).
I have a wonderful, wonderful mother but my real father turned into a nightmare. He was an abusive alcoholic. He ended up trying to kill my step-mom and accidently set himself on fire. I had the horror of sitting in the Intensive Care Burn Unit watching him die, which sure topped all the other horrible memories I had of him.
Sorry...I know that's hard to read, but I hope it helps some folks realize that they shouldn't get bogged down in trivial, little things with their parents. If you're lucky enough to have parents who love you, then appreciate that! Be grateful if they just do little things that bother you, because not all of us are lucky enough to experience that. Some of us have lived things you don't even want to have nightmares about.
