Ok, here is my issue.....I am making a wedding cake for the 18th of november and the cake is to be frosted with buttercream and it will have drapes made from fondant and cameos made from gum paste on the sides of the 4 tier cake. I just suddenly thought will the fondant and gum paste stick without falling, sliding off of the cake icon_confused.gif . Does anyone know if this is possible to to do.

My opinion --

You will need to tuck the drapes in under the tier above and the cake topper - glue with buttercream underneath the drape, too, not just at the ends. Don't mold the cameos too thick, and use buttercream to adhere them.

Make sure you use a crusting buttercream, so if you have to reposition anything, you don't create holes in your surface.

i adhered fondant cutouts to my buttercream icing last week with clear vanilla and they worked out fine. but... a test run is a good idea

OK i just tried it last night on my cake dummy and it worked and all i used was butter cream on the back of them. Of course this was just a
test. It was not suppost to be perfect. LOL
