I really perfer working with fondant. But I find cutting the cake difficult. What is the best method, knife to use? I was thinking a serrated knife worked better, but I just don't really know. Any tips?

Fondant needs a thin, thin, serrated knife. A good (not a cheap one) bread knife works great.

thanks! I was watching my DH grandmother trying to cut her cake yesterday (I offered, but she wanted to do it) and she was having some trouble with it. She wasnt using a serrated knife and I wondered if that was part of the problem. I also wondered if that was just the way it always would be (difficult). Or perhaps my fondant is too thick...

I think every cake cuts better with a thin serrated knife-seems to get a cleaner cut.
