Thanks for the responses to my first question...I have done a search on these next couple of questions, but have a lot of pages, I didn't really find the answer.

1. What is the going style of a cupcake, should they be level with the paper top, or is a mound/bump on top okay?

2. Cost...what do you charge for a cupcake that is basic yellow cake with white buttercream icing piped on top and finished off with a hypnotic spiral in black (being used for a hypnotist that will be performing at the college)? The order is for 300 cupcakes, and the group has a budget of $200 and needs to buy milk out of that as well. Any advise?

3. I was thinking I could bake 4 doz. at a time in the office, and just plan on rotating the pans halfway through baking...has anyone else ever tried this?

K...think that is all of the questions for now.
Appreciate the help.

Wow...I never realize that cupcakes could go for such prices...just not sure that would happen around here. I want to make it worth my while, but being I work for the same people that hired me, I really do know what the budget is, and don't see it going higher.

Any clue how many batches of icing I will need to make? I've figured out the cupcake batter and all, but not sure on the icing...seems like it will take a lot if I use the star tip 1M.

bump...in regards to how many batches of icing I would need to spiral tip icin 300 cupcakes? I know it will be a lot, but just curious if anyone has a better feel. I use the Wilton BC recipe that yields 3 cups per recipe. Thanks! thumbs_up.gif
