OK - I'M HAVING A DISASTER! I FORGOT BUTTER AT THE STORE AND CAN'T GET OUT!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

All I have is country crock spread - anyone think that it's crazy to use that in place of butter for the crusting buttercream recipe??

NO! Don't do it! lol

The water in the spread will ruin your icing.

Do you have any shortening? Lots of people make their icing with that.

Thats all I use most of the time.. is shortening.. no butter.. and I cut the sweet taste with a dash of salt and I add water instead of milk to give it a creamy feel.. Good Luck!
