Any Problems Airbrushing On Royal Icing?

. I thought I'd airbrush them primary colors and then add whilte royal icing polka dots. anyone know if that will work?

I made a large "40" out of royal icing and tried to airbrush it and it fell apart once I started picking it up. If you airbrush it make sure its completely dry before you pick it up.
