Sorry but I don't know what cake balls are or how to make them. So my question is what are cake balls?
and How do you make them?

You make them with leftover cake! Very yummy!

The recipie is more of just a guideline. When you start making them you can just throw in whatever sounds good! If you look through the posts you will see alot of different variations that people have come up with. Now with the holiday creamers you can really come up with some ideas! I just saw the mint creamer in the store the oter day, that with some chocolate cake! YUMMYYYYYYYY good luck with them, but be careful they can become addictive!

Just made my first cake balls and they seems a bit wet when I handle them. I froze them to dip and they taste fine and dipped just fine just wondered if they were to be slightly sticky out of the freezer or did I put in too much liquid. They seemed somewhat foolproff so I did not measure exactly (I hardly ever do if it is something somewhat foolproof). Don't get me wrong they are to die for...Just wondering if they could be better?

I can see these becomming a family fav...My husband told the guys at work about them and they are waiting for their first bite. Not sure I want them to be their favs yet!!! Not ready!!!

Oh well,

Thanks!
Mel,

I read about these awhile ago and noticed quite a few people saying theirs were sticky. So, when I made mine, I used BC as a binder and used JUST enough to where it formed a ball in my KA. They weren't sticky at all and were delicious! HTH some of you.

Mel,

I myself don't follow the recipe exactly. I just add enough liquid to make the cake stick together. You might want to try that next time. HTH

yeah I remember one posting on here about cake balls, on how they should come with a warning label because they are so addictive. I made some last night, using butter cake mixed with pumpkin pie spice coffee creamer, dipped in white chocolate (I added a bit of that Lorann oil in the cheesecake flavor) and sprinkled with cinnamon. As Rachel Ray would say, YUM-O!!! The entire tray was gone in under an hour and it was just me and my husband. Cake balls are the GREATEST candy in the world!

I feel ya about the favs! I took some to my brother (he's in rehab icon_sad.gif ) a few weeks ago to try and he fell in love with them. About 2 weeks later he asked me to bring a bunch in...I brought close to 150 and they were gone within minutes! I found out later that he was telling all the guys about them so they had all been waiting for them! They were joking with me as I was leaving saying that they have found a "new addiction" I guess it's better for them to have a cake ball addiction!

Today I made my first cake balls! (Im sorry girls im in a pumpkin phase). I made them using a spice cake recipe, some pumpkin spice creamer, pumpkin, a little buttercream ( i dont know why i added that, i just did), and then dipped them in white chocolate flavored with the cheesecake lorann oil. Oh So good!

Now I want to play with other flavors!

Hmm.....I wonder how peach cake and champange will taste?

If you don't want to roll the mixture into balls, press it into a square pan. Using a knife or mini-cutters, cut them into whatever shape you want. Dip as usual or cover with a poured icing. You can still sprinkle them with decorations or add tiny flowers, or whatever. Just a different take on petit fours, I guess.

I have a lot of orders for Christmas to do. One quick questions, how far in advance can I freeze them and how far in advance can I dip them?

Also, has anyone baked them because they were too sticky? Sometimes they come out too fudgy?

I can't thank all of you on the forum enough. I have learned so much and have had many chuckles. Thanks again.

Phyllis
