I used one and a half containers of red coloring for my red royal icing roses. It was Wilton brand. Is there another color manufacturer that is more intense and you don't have to use as much? I also tried red fondant roses and it seems as though the red coloring broke the fondant down. I appreciate all your responses.

Try Americolor. It is alot better than some other brands. You can even purchase it from here.

This is why I use powdered food color for darks - it doesn't take much and it doesn't "soupify" the icing icon_smile.gif

Make your roses white and let them dry. Then color very high alchool level white spirit with red power color and dip your rose in it, that's how you make red roses

What excellent suggestions. I'm going to use all of them.

Thank you soooo much!! I wondered if there was a way you could make the roses and then color them. I really don't have the moolah to purchase a color jet sprayer yet.
