My dr. thinks that I have a pituitary adenoma. I've been reading (a ton) on the internet. One site makes it sound like no big deal and then the next site refers to it as a brain tumor and radiation treatment. I'm freaking out a lot. Especially when hearing 'brain tumor' since my dad died of a brain tumor in March. Anyone have any first hand experience??

I don't know anything about it but I have already said a prayer for you. I hope you get better.

I will give you the advice that dh gave me when we were having a difficult and high risk pregnancy-stay off the internet (to some degree). I was letting it totally freak me out. Find out all the info you can from your md and then use the internet to compare notes and see if you need more info from you md or if you need a new md!
My thoughts are with you and hope that the next news you get on this is good news!!

amberlicious-news like this can be very scary, especilly when there has been a similar situation dealt with, within the family. I read the link dodibug posted in order to understand what your DR thinks you have. I have to say I agree with her advice. Don't panic. Since your Dr THINKS you may have a tumor I suggest you first get confirmation through testing. Dr's thoughts don't automaticaly become truth. Even if he is right the test needs to be done first. Like dodibug said the internet can be helpful but it can also scare you. Take this as it comes bit by bit. Don't try to absorb everything all at once, it will tire you out before you even find out all the facts. Keep reaching out to us here on CC for support and keep us as informed as you need to. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks guys. I'm trying not to think about it and trying not to freak out. I've got some big orders coming up so I'm trying to concentrate on those. Thanks for your kind words- I'll keep you updated.
