I have sold some cookies to a local store and I am trying to decide how to package them. Does shrinkwrapping make them less likely to break?

Thanks,
Kathi

I think shrink wrapping does protect against breakage. I have used it to ship cookies, but I find the cookies hard to unwrap.

I don't feel shrink wrapping takes the place of bubble wrap for protecting the cookies from breakage.

It will however, keep the pieces intact (until the wrap is removed).

I would thinkt hat shrink wrapping them would also protect them from going stale as fast since the air is removed from the bag. I use shrink wrap on bouquets to mail...it protects them then I bubble wrap...then i shrink teh whole thing.

Thanks. I'm going to shrinkwrap a sample cookie and then bag a sample cookie and see what I like best. My biggest concern is that I will break the shafar cookies (see below) while shrinkwrapping them. The other 2 styles don't scare me, but this one does.

What do you think? Would you risk it?

Hmm, that could be tricky. I put some reindeer with big racks in shrink wrap and I did find that I had a bit of breakage at first. After that i was careful to lie the cookie on a towel and blow them from the side a little bit at a time. Maybe try a few.

I would think though that you should do them all the same. So if the shrink does not work for this one, pu them all in the regular bag. Just my opinion though.

Thanks Julia

Hey.... you could put a piece of cardstock behind the cookies and then shrink...maybe that would prevent from breaking in the shrink and in the store...an extra form of support.
