Hi my lovely cake ladies (and some gents, lol) I'm seeing so many cakes with fondant draped over the sides of the cake - for instance the gift boxes have the bow going over the sides or around the edge of the cake. Do I put it on there when it's still soft or do I let it dry for a little bit?? I'm confused because the bows and things you let dry.

Sorry if it's a silly question, I've just never put together a buttercream cake with fondant pieces on it!!

Thanks everyone, you're the best!!! icon_biggrin.gif

You put in on while soft and place cotton balls or tissue on the bow section so that it will harden in shape.
