I am going to use buttercream frosting on my cake.
My question is Can I use MMF decoration(cut out ) on the buttercream frosting ?
Can I also put the cake in the refrigerator ? I am worried if MMF decoration
cracks.
Thanks.

You can definitely use mmf on bc. I try to wait till the last minute to put the decos on but it really depends on the decos. I might be concerned that if it is something on the side it could move with the condensation that will form after the cake comes out of the fridge. If it's something like stripes or decos on top you should be ok. Just don't touch them until the condensation has evaporated.

Hello dodibug,
I want to make square shapes with MMF on the side too. What you mean is if I use MMF on the side, do it after I take the cake out of fridge , right ?
If I decorate with MMF on the top of buttercream frosting, I can put the cake
in the fridge . It won't be cracked , right ??
THANK YOU for your quick reply.

You're welcome! I've never had it crack on me. The trick with mmf and refridgeration is not to touch the decos while they have condensation on them. It will dry and they will look just like it did when you put it in the fridge! Now that I think about it, I think if you put the decos on the side before the icing crusts (if you use a crusting bc) they should be stuck pretty to the cake and you shouldn't have a problem with the fridge!
