My daughter had a bake sale for her orchestra concert. I let her go through the cake books and pick something out. Well they priced it way high and when I left (2 1/2 hours) later. My cake was still there. UGH! all that work and it didn't sell.

that has happened to me before. that is frustrating. Next time give a suggested price

I'm sorry that happened. I find that cupcakes, or other simple things are the only I'll do for bake sales anymore. It's depressing when your cakes go too low-I can't watch. I'd rather take them home than have them go for only a few dollars.

You might try doing mini cakes. I have found a small individual size cake will sell better than a whole cake.
