Hi all,
Here's my first post.

I'm making a tropical themed cake similar to the one on this site of the Tiki God that matches the invitation.
I don't want to use fondant, but I would like the same smooth finish. I'm wondering if I can use the same outline/flooding that is used on sugar cookies? If so, do I just use a thinned buttercream?

The Tiki God is sort of detailed, and I don't want to just fill it in with a star tip.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Becky

Sounds like something you would want to use thinned royal icing on. That's what is usually used on the cookies, I believe. Or, you could do an FBCT or candy transfer - are you familiar with those?
