you could maybe do a big magnifying glass. A round cake for the lens, with maybe a loaf pan for the handle. Or, a sheet cake with a list on it, with check marks next to the different items found.

You could work with the person making up the hunt and make the cake one of the clues they have to use to go to the next treasure...

I would do chocolate transfers for each of the items on the list - and maybe do a sheet cake "list" like LukeRubyJoy suggested and put the CT's around it.
