AWWW, you are so sweet. (and I'm not rolling my eyes) I appreciate all the input you and others are giving me. I'm not one to be afraid to take chances, but with this for some reason I'm feeling the queezy belly thing, don't know why, guess it's nerves. go ahead and hummmm away, I've been doing it since your last post icon_lol.gif

Hi , now I'm getting nervous for you too!LOL Anyway- I'm a professional decorator, have worked in so many places I can't count. I have been a scatch baker in a couple. Plus I'm married to a Chef de Partie. ( don't ask me what that means, it's a French thing) Don't know what items you will be offering, but if I may offer some advice. Start off with the best recipes you can find especially cookies. I have worked at places ( featured on TV!) that fill up their counter with the most disgusting things and they sit and do not sell. Such wasted space. Put out samples and see how people react. Ask them. No matter what the new trends are, people like good stuff they can pronounce and recognize. I could go on and on here, with just about every kind of experience good and bad. I guess what I'm trying to say, if you need any advice about counter set up etc. , please don't hesitate to write. Just relax and enjoy the ride. Sounds like you already have a lot of support. And again I wish you the very best.

Thanks for the advice, my goal is to have a store front but for right now I'm running it through my church kitchen and having to deliver. How do you work this then? Do I give some small samples of something like a few cookies or cake balls whith the ordered baked good on the side? I'm only making the best cake recipes I have and using a good quality chocolate and cream cheese plus a few other items that I know will help increase the quality and taste. I bake from scratch but a few are doctored mixes. I really want to learn how to make the decorated cookies but for right now I'll probly hold off till I get use to the swing of things. Besides I LOVE cookies and practicing recipes may add a few inches to my waist line icon_wink.gif

Hi,
Part of my job includes making items for the Starbucks in our hotel. A real hot item now is cupcakes. There are some special pans that make them thinner on the bottom and open more like a muffin on top. Anyway, there are cardboard foams you set the cupcakes in with different themes. ( Kids b-days, showers, and we are seeing a lot for weddings ) Very easy to make, deliver etc. Also wanted to add , bar cookies are selling like crazy. On the decorating end, I'm making sugar cookies for favors for the bride and groom a lot. We sell ours for 3.50 a piece.
