What other brands have good mixers. I want something bigger than the 5 qt KA I have but not a floor modle. Anyone have any suggestions?

I did a whole 'brag' on my mixer recently. I have the Electrolux/Magic Mill Assistent (yes, it's an e) Mixer and it's wonderful. It has the whisk for lightweight stuff, but it has a heavy duty stainless steel bowl with a roller and spatula that can handle a TON of stuff and without a whine or complaint or worry about motor burnout. Another one I thought about getting is Bosch Concept 7. Do a google and you can find info on each of these.

I have seen a KA 6 quart. I have also seen the huge floor models, but the 6 quart is the largest cabinet model I have seen

here's info on the Magic Mill Mixer - 8 quart capacity (huge and I love it!) I mix my bread in it and I make hearty, whole grain, HEAVY bread and I can do several loaves in one batch.

Here's about the Bosch Concept 7:

Hope this helps!

Not sure if you want larger bowl or motor. I got my Cooks from JC Penny and do love it. It has a 5 quart bowl and 700 watt motor which was much larger than the KA motor. And it cost me half the price of the KA.

I haven't made MMF yet, it's on my "to do" list and I hope to try it this weekend, but I would have no doubt this mixer can handle it.

Has anyone seen the 7 qt. Viking? It's pretty awesome looking but at $550 I'll need to wait. My 6qt. KA works just fine.

Must admit, I didn't pay the $500 plus for the mixer. I kept my eye out for it on ebay for over 6 months and finally got mine for about $250 shipped and I swear it's never been used (it was slightly mislabeled. Mine is the black chrome one - very pretty). They sell really high used on ebay too as they are just really reliable and good - used usually goes for over $350 with shipping included, but sometimes one can be gotten for less. People hunt for them.

I'm surprised no one really knows of them here as on breadmaker boards where people TRULY need a sturdy and larger capacity mixer, these are the only two ever mentioned (Bosch Concept 7 and Magic Mill DLX2000/Electrolux Assistent). I guess a regular mixer works fine for most cake applications, so no need for something different I suppose.

No one else has one of these two?

Jenn Air has a very stylish looking mixer, but I don't know how it would stand up against a KA or a Bosch.

I never even thought about ebay for something so "high end."

Melissa,

I have the Concept 7 but have to admit I've never used it for anything other than bread. I bought the new cookie paddles to go with it but haven't tried those either! I'm kind of addicted to my KA that I got a great deal on Ebay. I'm ashamed to say that I only use the blender and food processor on my Concept. Can anyone tell me how the Concept does with cake batter and cookie dough??
