I'm thinking about ordering satin fondant, BUT wanted to know if it tastes good like the mmf? If it's worth ordering? Please let me know asap! Thanks!

If you mean Satin Ice, then yes it is very good but Fondx is better, or at least that is my opinion, but I do like Satin Ice very much.
I agree. I did a side by side taste test with both. FondX was the easy winner. One true advantage to Satin Ice however is the range of ready made colors available. Satin Ice's red is a true red while FondX's red is a duller shade.
I swear that I must have gotten a bad batch or something because people rave about Satin Ice and mine tasted (and smelled...yuck) like Play Dough! I used it for practice because I couldn't imagine giving it to a customer or family to eat.
I taste tasted Wilton several months ago and it was just blah, but not disgusting like the Satin Ice.
I learned to make the MMF, which is yummy, and the guests at tonight's party said it was great.
Then again, I'm really new to all of this cake decorating stuff....

I got Satin Ice once...and wasn't really pleased with it. The only good thing is that it is really easy to work with. But the taste...not so good. Everyone preferred my homemade fondant compared to Satin Ice!

I think Fondx tastes like MMF and Satin Ice tastes like BC.

My DH said the same exact thing about it tasting like play dough. I gave both DH and best friend Fondant and Satin Ice and they both preferred the Satin Ice. I've never had the other kind. I like that Satin Ice comes tinted already.
SatinIce is great to work with. I've only tried the vanilla, and it has what I would call a very strong odor, unlike MMF. The taste is quite good, sweet and very vanilla. I just don't care for the smell, but the more I use it, the more I get used to it. Someday I'll try FondX.

I really like satin ice. It does have an odd smell. But tatse wise is very vanilla like. It is great to use. I like to use 50 0/0 satin ice and 50 0/0 chocopan white chocolate fondant.
I love pettinice chocolate, everyone I use it for swears it tastes like a big tootsie roll. I do not at all like satin ice chocolate kind, taste wise.
Sweet inspirations/ caljava white chocolate fondant is awesome too. I use it lot.
I do not like fondx taste, no one I have given it to liked it at all. So I have never worked with it. If no one will eat it why bother. <in my case>
But wilton is nasty tasting to me and no one will eat it either so that is used for dummy cakes in my house.
I love Satin Ice. The first time I open a new tub, yes there is a strong smell, but it doesn't smell like playdough! I think it has a very nice vanilla flavor, not too strong.
