The Michael's and AC Moore offer classes, but do other places? I would love to learn more, but at more convenient times for me... after 6:30 pm or on weekends would be better.

Does Fran of the Fran's Cake Supply offer classes? (Her store is GREAT!) Maybe I'll ask her the next time I go in. She may be a bit pricey, but she has like EVERYTHING and is so helpful and knowledgeable!

I can only suggest what I know so here goes --

check with B. Keith Ryder (www.bcakes.com) to see if he is teaching anywhere soon. He is in Falls Church. I do not know if that is close to you. He might also know if anyone down there is teaching soon. He is the current president of ICES.

Join your ICES chapter (www.ices.org). They often have classes during their weekends of sharing.

Contact Cake and Sugar Artists of Northern Virginia (http://www.cakeclub.com).

Hope this helps.

Melissa,

You really need to check out Fairfax County's adult education program at www.fcps.edu. They have a TON of classes there. I started taking them last year, and have become addicted. To give you an idea of what they offer, here are some of the classes that I've taken:

Cake Decorating 1
Cake Decorating 2
Cake Decorating 3
Tiered Cakes
Rolled Fondant
Stencil Designs
Marzipan Fruits & Vegetables
Marzipan Animals
Petit Fours
Cookie Centerpieces
Wireless Gumpaste Flowers

You can also find some more classes on www.confectionersart.com.
