I use MMF all the time to make my bows. You just have to let the loops dry for a few days prior. Then assemble your bow.

Sorry don't know for sure icon_redface.gif but from what I've read in my research for making figures the MMF may be to soft by itself. I've read to mix gumtex into the MMF or do a 50/50 of MMF and gumpaste. Hopefully someone will clarify for sure.

Good luck.

MMF is mostly marshmellow and marshmellows do harden over time. It's much faster if you add about 50% gum paste to the MMF. It dries much more quickly and much harder. If you're in a humid climate MMF is soft FOREVER! (It is very humid here and MMF never dries.) It is wonderful to work with, have lots of fun.

look at the green cake in my photos...the loops are mmf...kind of soft, but I didn't do them far enough in advance. They only dried for about 5-6 hrs.

Did you mean the bow that look like you would put on a present ? the one with many loops ? or the kind that you would have on a dress ? like this ?
I always use Fondant. And no it is not too soft.

The kind like you put on a present, the kind with many loops. I have seen the article on how to do it, just not sure if MMF will hold up. Your cakes are gorgeous!

Also someone suggested adding gumtex, at what point in making the MMF would I add it? Is it a powder or gel/liquid? I know I can pick some up at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, I just have never used it before.
