I made a cake with SMBC, and I want to know if I should serve it right after taking it out of the fridge, or leave out an hour before serving?
I heard serving from the fridge alters the taste. Is this true?

It alters the texture. Since it is mostly butter, it will be hard like butter. I prefer (and recommend to my customers) that it come to room temp before service, but my best friend likes it cold.

Leave it out for several hours if you can. It's meant to be served soft.

thanks Guys! I just ran to take it out of the fridge, but it may be too late. I'm serving this for the office in half an hour. Oh well, I know for next time icon_smile.gif

It won't be the end of the world. It will still taste good!

Yeah! I'm eating it right now! Yummmm! This is the first time I've made this (always used the shortening based icing. I think I'll use this from now on)
