I need some help with a thank you cake. Someone is giving me about 20 dummie cakes so that I can practice and in return he wants a plain white cake. White cake, white frosting. I am looking for ideas on how this can still be a gorgeous cake with only one color. I may be wrong, but I think one little 8" cake for 20 dummies in various sizes and shapes is not a bad thing. Anyways if someone has some pics or ideas I would appreciate it. TIA

Well....you could do all kinds of things in white and make it pretty....roses, ruffles, swags, swiss dots.

Fancy it up a bit instead of the shell border stuff, lol!

HTH!

Good Luck!

White on white is very classy. I love doing cornelli lace, so that would look nice with swags. Basketweave would also look nice, with lots of white flowers on top.

An all white cake sounds pretty. You could do snowflakes on the top with an icicle border hanging from the top down the sides. Then you could use luster dust....pretty!

Here in Buffalo we have already had our 1st snowfall!

Or, you could do lillies, callas or Easter (since they are white in nature).

Is he okay with decorations? You said he wants a plain white cake... does that just mean flavor? Could it be for an occassion? I wouldn't want to mess up plans he had by covering it in white flowers or something, know what I mean?

white on white is beautiful...I would do cornelli lace and white roses in a cluster in the center of the top..

The winter scene is great like LukeRubyJoy mentioned and I saw a polar bear on someone's cake that was super..made with fondant or gumpaste..it was sort of 3d going around the side of the cake..
