Hi all,
Here it is, my green cake. Looking for any advice on how to make it better/faster. Other than the obvious, of course - thicker BC, filling, stiffer royal...

I put the cake in the freezer after filling it, and again after icing it, but it still buckled under the MMF...I know my filling was soft and my bc didn't crust. I should've known that it wouldn't when it seemed a bit soft out of the KA. I made the rope on the bottom to hide the MMF edge, but gravity took hold of my BC and it is bulgy.
This was my first use of sparkle and luster dusts, and can I say that I love super pearl? I will use it on everything! LOL
My next cake probably won't be until next year...I was wondering, those of you who work full time and do cakes, how do you manage it? Do you have families? How do you manage your time? What gives, if something must?

I dont see any buckling, in fact, I really lie it. I like the retro-almost cosmic effect on top and I'm a big fan of that green.
I agree I didn't see any flaws and I to love the retro look. When I first saw it, it reminded me of Jimmy Neutron's logo change the colors and it's perfect. As for making the time I work full time 10 hours a day and have 2 young kids but baking and decorating kinda mellows me out gives me "my time". It's something I enjoy and you have to make time for yourself in order to stay happy.
thanks you guys for your kind words! I didn't even think about it being cosmic/retro/jetsons! LOL I just wanted thin loops and balls on wires! but you know...I love that retro stuff too...

That is really cool. I don't see anything wrong with it. I work full time but don't have kids but I did keep my nephew this weekend while attempting to do three cakes and let me tell you I have so much respect for those of you who do this and have children. My goodness! I finally had to wait until he went to bed and then was up til one in the morning and then he woke up and we didn't get back to bed till after two.
