I would definitely make them at least a day ahead of time. Depending on how much royal icing is going on the cookies, it needs at least a good 6-12 hours for the RI to set up completely. thumbs_up.gif

You would need enough time for the icing to dry. I would say do them the night before. HTH

Thank you so much...

one more thing.. do you have to chill out the dough before baking it? If you are out of time.....

thank you,

HI! I was just wondering if you have made the nfsc with RI before? When I first started making cookies I was using RI for the base and decorations and i got complaints that the cookies didn't taste very good. So I searched until i found Toba Garrett's Glace recipe. Now I NEVER make cookies without using that for the base. IT is seriously delicious!!! I will never ever go back to using RI as my base again. Here is the link just in case you want to try it! I promise you will be so pleased!

I also would sugguest making the cookies tonight. I usually make mine a day or 2 ahead of time so they can dry. It takes a few hours for Toba's to get hard enough to stack.

If you are out of time then you can roll out your dough and cut it put it on cookie sheet and place in the freezer for a few mins to get a quick chill. The chilling helps keep the spreading to a minimum.
