The one that I made for last year's OSSAS would be the hands-down winner for my most time-consuming: http://www.sugarcreations.com/BellezaEspanola.jpg

I did this one for a Kansas Lottery commercial & it was a booger as well: http://www.sugarcreations.com/KansasLotteryCake.jpg

As far as real cake that somebody ate, this one took quite a while to complete: http://www.sugarcreations.com/ScrapbookConventionCake.jpg

Wow, Cakebaker, those are some amazing cakes! You have an amazing talent, and I LOVE the cake on the front page of your website. Just beautiful work.

I am in the middle of making my most time consuming cake (I just do this for fun--friends and family) and it is for my niece's wedding, and it will have gumpaste gerbera daisies and regular daisies and stephanotis. So those are the time consuming part, as you know, which I have been making for a couple months now. I will post a picture after it is finished and due this Saturday.

Have fun!

First of all I just have to say that CakeBaker you are amazing! Your cakes are absolutely stunning!

That said, my most time consuming cake is a tie between two of my wedding cakes. One because I wanted the buttercream perfectly smooth, and the other because of all the tiny fondant flowers and mini pearls I placed on it.

My newest was most time consuming. I made the cake, fondant, filling& icing, side decorations and from scratch recipes then I hand painted it.
All together it took me 12 hours. May not seem like a lot but I've only been decorating for 9 months.
Plus I have small children who love to "help".

Mine was the one I did for the county fair that I posted recently. I spent somewhere between 30 - 50 hours on it but in the end it was worth every minute.

First I would like to say.....everyones cakes are just amazing and I have very much enjoy looking at them. Thanks for sharing your photos.

I have 2 cakes that I put a very lot of time into due to the detailing I did, but I would have to say this one took the most time.

Everyone's cakes is just amazing. I sit for hours sometimes just enjoying the beauty of all the different designs and the talent that everyone has.
My most time consuming cake had to be my son's wedding cake. It took me 11 hours to decorate it. An hour to set it up and bake time I stop counting after several hours. But I can truly say it was well worth every ache that I had in my feet, legs and back. Oh I forgot my hands.lol. icon_biggrin.gif

My most time consuming was a birthday cake for my father-in-law. He is a lifelong farmboy, so I took an aerial photo of the farm and drew it on the cake. The photo was a little old, so I had to fill in a few of the things that changed. I am a sucker for detail, so that was my downfall on the time with this one, and it was a full sheet cake, so lots of area to cover. I even put the dog napping under the swingset like she does. It is just filled in with stars (I was a really new newbie when i did this one) but it took forever to draw.

My most time-consuming cake so far would have to be the Blueberry Princess Pageant cake (from my avatar).

Course, there are others that took just as long because I made them way back when I was starting out and a sheet cake would take me ALL day to do icon_razz.gif

I love all the cakes posted in this thread. So many artistic, beautiful and insirational creations.

Well here goes, this is my favorite. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=671063
Funny, for some reason when I look at this cake it seems like it should not have taken so long to create. But the castle alone on this took 2 days, and then the figurines..... but for me it was a true labor of love.

wow...beautiful work!! That's why I love these threads..get to see lots of work I have missed!!

This cake took me hours....drawing the pictures (with Doug's templates!!!) and then doing all the flowers...the ones for the top and the ones for the cake sides...the piping..the measuring..
I loved doing every moment of this one..a few things I would change but all in all, I think it is my favourite cake so far..I took a vacation day to decorate it...used to be my avatar pic but have since changed it..

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=714313

I want to make another version of this...I hope someone asks for one...
