Hi,
What a fantastic site I have just found here. Can anyone help me asap?
I have been asked to do a cake for my mothers colleague who is emigrating to Perth very soon. I have been asked to decorate with Wattle flowers. I have managed to download a picture of these from the web but really don't know where to start with regards to making out of sugarpaste.
Any of your ideas, tips and how to's would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in anticipation of replies

Hi Bronnie,
I'm sorry I can't help you with the flowers. I didn't even know what they were till I looked them up!! ![]()
Just wanted to say welcome to CC!
I'm sure SOMEONE here can help you.

Hi Bronnie
There are hundreds of species of wattle and the flower forms can vary quite a lot. The common feature is that the flowers are made up of clusters of little yellow balls.
To make these, simply roll out lots of little balls of yellow gumpaste. The flowers are covered in pollen, so you then need to roll them in finely ground pollenta or even castor sugar for a pretty look. Insert a length of fine gauge wire in each and let them dry. Then, simply cluster them up into pretty groups and tape them together.
Hope that helps...
Kind regards,
Cris.
