I need to get a new printer- I have had NOTHING but BAD luck with my Canon ip4000. My sweet husband bought it for me last Christmas and it has been nothing but a headache- and I only use it about twice a month.. This past week was it's last chance!

I have been looking on the boards and it seems that the Canon ip1500 and the Epson stylus c88 are both popular---

Has anyone had any good/bad experience-- I need all the help I can get.. The printer I have now has "almost" been thrown out the window many times!!

I have a CAnon, but a very old model and i like it more than an Epson. For us epson didn't worked very well, but I used it for printing regular paper. My canon is for edible images.

I got an epson a month or so ago and I HATED it. The picture quality was some of the worst quality I have ever seen. I didn't use it for cakes, but if you're going to print a photo it still needs to be good quality. The box said "ultra high definition" and it was completely the opposite. I called epson support, and they put me on the phone with someone who could barely speak english. He was no help. He told me my problem was that I needed epson paper. Well it didn't do a good job on regular paper either. Why would I spend a lot of money on epson brand paper when my dad just got over a thousand dollars worth of fuji paper free from work? My mom has a cannon and it prints great pictures. Sorry for blabbing. Hope this helps!

I've had all kind of printers in the past, I won't have anything other than an Epson. The printer I use for photos is the Stylus Photo RX580, GREAT colors and I need top quality for the t shirt transfers that I do for organizations. My Epson printer for edible images is the C88, no problems with printing on frosting sheets, no problems with the ink cartridges, I give the C88 a big thumbs up. Never had a Cannon so I can't advise you on that.
