According to Earlene's cakes, a 10in serves 30 with wedding size pieces. So I think for party pieces, you could probably get 15-17 pieces out of a 10in.

Yes....but I really think this cake cutting stuff is sooo subjective. I always think "man sized pieces or girl pieces".....my hubby and sons would laugh at party servings even! LOL It's all in the hands of the cake server. I always make too much when it's MY event. I sell by the charts..........

I would do the 12" and give them a cutting guide.
No way a 10" would do at our family gatherings.

I think you could easily get that many servings out of a 10", especially if it's a tall cake.

I served about 25 with a 10", 4-inch tall cake the other day. The pieces were decent-sized, too.

I agree with HollyPJ, I think you could easily get that many servings out of a 10" cake. I did one not too long ago to feed 20 and had leftover.
