Another Cake-Tastrophy! I'm Not A Structural Engineer!

Well, yesterday, I made a Wii cake per Martha Stewart's instruction. But after standing nice and tall for a few hours it fell. Well, actually it split and then fell.

I've had other cakes fall ... tilted cake, Starbucks cup cake ... I use dowels, cake boards and WASC per suggestions I've read here at CC.

Do you think it's still the cake? Do I need a denser cake to stand up to the weight of the fondant and icing? Are dense cakes drier?

I wish that I could help you. I don't know why this would be happening to you, but I'm sure one of our brilliant decorators will be able to help you.
