I'm doing a wedding cake this weekend. I'm stumped on how much cake to make! The bride says that there will be between 100-140 people there(it's a potluck sort of thing second marriage for both..no gifts)
There will be other desserts.
I think indydebi had a guideline on this but i can't rememebr what it is..anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Angie

Here's a chart from CC that shows the number of servings for different size/shape pans: http://www.cakecentral.com/article14-Cake-Baking-Cutting--Serving-Guide---2-in-Deep-Pans.html

Thanks Miriel! I'm wondering how much cake to make? I really don't want to make cake for 140 and they have tons left over!

According to that chart it looks like a 12-9-6 would make 100 servings. Just a heads up on that chart-it reports even more servings than the wilton chart does from the same sized pans. People frequently complain that the wilton chart has numbers of servings that are hard to acheive in real life. Here are a couple of other resources you can use.:

Thanks Alana. I was think 100 servings should be more than enough with other deserts.
I don't have a 9" so i was thinking a 12" 10" and 6"? Or 10" 8" and 6"?
