Hello all icon_smile.gif

I finished Wilton I a few weeks ago and really loved it. Since I couldn't sign up for Course 2 immediately, I decided to try and teach myself course 2. Well, it's harder than it looks, and I am frustrating the fun right out of my new hobbie. So I'm hoping someone can offer some insight to a few questions. I seem to do OK on the first few petals (i.e apple blossom), but when I make the last petal, I ruin the first one. How do you keep from messing up the other petals? Also, how flat to the nail should the narrow end of the petal tip be? Finally, my petals keep sliding around on the wax paper...are there any tips for anchoring the petals themselves? Any tips/info/encouragement you can offer would be MUCH appreciated. I know this will take practice, but boy it's tough to be patient. Thanks so much for any help!

I had the same problems with my roses...I had to stray away from the wilton method and started using hershey kisses as the base for the flowers...after I put a dab of frosting on the nail the kiss didn't fall over or slide....then I made the roses...same way as the other just had a base to start with! icon_smile.gif

Put a dab of RI on the nail itself, before you place the wax paper on it. In order to keep from messing up the last petal, when you pull the tip around to make thepetal, instead of puling it around, make a slight turn and pull toward the center as you lift up. I hope the makes sense. You're right though, Course II is really something that you should have an instructor for just so you can get the techniques right. Good luck. You'll figure it out - just keep practicing.

Tip should be flat on the nail - as though it is lying on the nail. When it comes to the last petal, you have to raise the tip up - so it is not lying on the nail anymore. Keep the same technique - slide up, turn and pull down. Hope this helps.
