Question: This may sound so so stupid to you cake veterans, so bear with me. I am making a two tier cake for my friends baby shower. I wanted to do fondant, but find that people hate the taste and wont eat, and I get so frustrated with it when it doesnt work out as plannedicon_smile.gif So I am doing just regular old BC. Problem is: my friend wants a bavarian creme cake with strawberries. I use chocolate ganache like most people, but was wondering how I could use that and still have it go along with the baby pastel theme. Can I add the colored BC right on top of it? What would you do?? thanks!!

I wouldn't try to put buttercream on top of ganache! Did she request ganache? If so, you can still do a baby theme - baby themes do not necessarily have to be pastel. Have you seen the ever so popular jean teddy bear theme that Target carries? If you want to go with pastel, I would stick with BC - that would go well with bavarian cream and strawberries too. Good luck!

Why not do a White Chocolate gancahe? You can colour it into pastel shades.
Or do a dark chocolate gancahe and than drizzle big streaks of a pink tinted white chocolate ganache onto it before it sets so they level out together creating a marbled effect.
