I've seen so many comments on this site raving about the MMF recipe, but there's so many in the recipe section. Does anyone know the particular one everyone's raving about?

Thanks janicemarie! I know the basics, but I still need a lot of practice! Does anyone know a page that discusses smoothing the sides--I'm especially worried about square-edged cakes (I always end up with too much dough causing a flap folding situation around the corners).

Has anyone tried the MMF recipe in a really large batch? Do you just use a big double boiler instead of the microwave? How long will MMF last if wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and sealed in container?

sweetchef..if you cover a square cake, smooth the corners first, then smooth the sides, it usually helps reduce wrinkles. you may also want to elevate the cake when covering it so the excess will drape down not sideways (ie. coffee can, oatmeal etc...) just be careful not to topple it.
