Okey cc'er I am new here and I am trying my first tiara. I don't know if I made my RI right cause this is my first time making that also. icon_confused.gif I figured I would try something new. I am in the process of waiting my first two hours. Wish me luck. icon_smile.gif

Furthermore I have been on here for a few day and I love the way you all come together as a family when someone is in need. So keep an ear out in case I have problems. Thanks

Being that I couldn't get mine to stay in one piece (or even 6 - 7 pieces, for that matter), I can't really say what you should do - only what you shouldn't. icon_redface.gif First - make sure there is no "lip" to try to go over with the tiara - I had 2 break this way. icon_cry.gif Also, do not be impatient - let it dry COMPLETELY (1 broke this way). thumbsdown.gif After it has dried, and you take it off - if it breaks, put back together gently - too much pressure and another part breaks (all 4 did this!!). tapedshut.gif And last, when I went to paint mine with luster dust mixed with vodka, I held it up and painted first one side and moved to center continuing to paint to other side - NOT a good idea!! It broke part way through and shattered on the one side. icon_mad.gif I ended up using a crown from Walmart. Oh well - at least the cake was still pretty and the B-day gal loved it!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Good luck - I am very certain your tiara will turn out beautifully!!! Be sure to post pics!!

Well it is still going after two hours the first layer is still not dry so I have to give it a while longer. It is like almost a hundred degrees here in Georgia. So we keep at it. Thanks for the support. I will defenitally post the pic no matter how bad it looks. lol. icon_wink.gif

Just finished and am hoping it doesn't break. IMO it is beautiful. icon_biggrin.gif At least I am happy with it. I have to let it dry fully before I try to remove it. Wish me luck. Thank you all for the support I would have scrapped it at the beginning if not for the encoragement. So Thanks again. Will post pics after it dries.

Hello,
Welcome! I see that you are in GA too. Boy it's hot and I'm not surprised that it took a while for the tiara to dry. I can't wait to see the pics.

Very Pretty!!!! I really hope it comes off in one piece for you. thumbs_up.gif I am sure it will as you are being very patient letting it dry completely.

I will have to try one again someday. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry to disappoint everyone but it broke as soon as I tried to get it off the wax paper. But I figured out why. The outlines were too thin. So I just got to use a bigger tip next time. But I did it and that is all that counts for me. I thought I wouldn't be able to do it at all. So I am happy. Once again thank u all for the support and encouragement. Next time it will stay together. thumbs_up.gif

You didn't just do it - you did a beautiful job!!! The first one I did was too thin too, but I feel the same way - I learned something and I can do another one some other time. thumbs_up.gif
