to sticky layers...

When torting, I slice through, then seperate the layers with a thin cookie sheet. Or if I make two separate layers, I invert one onto the sheet pan or a cake board , then slide onto the bottom layer. Lately, the top layer has been sticking and falling apart when I try to slide it onto the bottom layer. The solution...

Sprinkle the cookie sheet (or cake board) with powdered sugar first and the layer slides right off!!!

Ahhhh....one more lesson under the belt.

That's a great idea. My layers fall apart when I try to torte larger cakes. I will try this.
