Please Help Me Win My First Competition (Gingerbread House)

There is a gingerbread competition going on at my school that I really want to join but I have never built one and don't know the first thing about them. I would like to know if anyone has any advice, recipes or ideas they are willing to share? Anything help or comments will be greatly appreciated.
The theme is "Winter Wonderland"
