After four years in Germany, we are finally back in the states and I can start using my big cake pans again.

I have a 12x18x2 - How many cake mixes does it take? & What temp and how long should I bake it? Also, any ideas of what to make for a castle cake? I don't have much time left and the castle cake I was going to do is not going to happen due to school work. She wants a castle, but I don't have much time. icon_sad.gif

Thank you!!

Hi Lisa icon_smile.gif I have a 12x18 and I used two doctored caked mixes (15 cups of batter). It seemed a little thin to me though, so you might want to go with 16 or 17. Also, I put two flower nails in upside in the pan to help with even baking. I put one in the middle to the left, and one in the middle to the right.

Hope this helps!

I would use two cake mixes or the equivelant amounts of batter. I bake at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes.

I just did a 14" last night for my daughter's castle cake for tomorrow. Small world. Look in the gallery for ideas. There are a lot of ideas out there. You will come across something that will work for you!

Good Luck!

I use 3 regular cake mixes for the 12x18. It's great for a Neopolitan Cake .... chocolate, white and pink!

indydebi - I wished I had read it sooner...I am baking the cake now. That would have been awesome to make three flavors. I will definitely keep in mind for future reference! Thank you.

cupcake13 - Thank you! It feels wonderful to be home again! We loved Europe, but home is here in America!
