Have any of you advertised on Craigslist? Had any luck with that?

I have, and I've gotten some people emailing, but it seems like you get very few customers willing to pay your prices because they are on there looking for a deal.
However I like to advertise in the "events" section for weddings. Craigslist is really growing and so I do occasionally advertise there. It can't hurt!
I advertised for wedding cakes for barter and had a bunch of responses..... alot of people on Craig'sList are looking for a deal (aren't we all
) and I needed linoleum work done and painting - stuff like that, so I was willing to do it since I did have the cake stuff but didn't have the $300 for a new floor! ![]()
I never got one call for the regular ad I had...... ![]()
Uh.....yeah.....there is some serious crazy on CraigsList!
I found this weird ad about fixing the kitchen sink and then the guy was giving his.....*ahem*description, etc.......I was like, huh??
LOL - my friend almost wet her pants laughing at how shocked I was! ![]()

Ohhhhh yeah, some of the "domestic help" on there is pretty scary.
I'm afraid if I advertised for domestic help I'd get some sort of child predator or thief or pervert. They're definately out there...esp in the big city area. ![]()
Sometimes there are ads for wedding couples looking for "free" services...I have contacted a couple of them offering wedding cake in exchange for spring cleaning. They "seemed" happy about the idea but we'll see if they ever follow through. Sometimes the reason young people don't have money is because they don't know how to work....
Hmm, that's sort of what I was thinking about the 'looking for a deal' thing. Thanks for the input guys!
