I need some help in figuring how to incorporate some themes on a cake. I have an order for a family reunion cake, I going to make the cake (2 layer 9x13, for 40 people) in the shape of GA, but she also wants movie and bowling themes on the cake as well. Please help me with any ideas. I'm blank on this one.

Did she specify which movies she wants on there?

For the bowling, obviously you could add some pins, ball, etc.

If there were specific movies, that would help...

She didn't say which movie that were going to see. She said that these were the two things that they were going to do as a family. Myabe I could do like a popcorn bucket or movie reel with the bowling pins, etc?? I'm just trying to get the picture in my mind so that it would make sense visually. Does that make sense?

I would make some gumpaste stand-ups in the popcorn tub, movie tickets, bowling ball, pins, then a fondant scoresheet. maybe on the front corner of the cake , (south Georgia), make a marqee with something like "now playing , _______'s Family Reunion"

Glad you liked the ideas of a fellow atlantan!
I'm sure you can google some images of those things.

YUP! I am doing that right now. Now if it would just cool down and I won't have to worry about the cake melting icon_cry.gif

I used to live in Georgia for over ten years and nothing screams Georgia like Stone Mountain and Gone with the Wind. You could probably do a buttercream transfer of both. Just google the movie Gone with the Wind and I'm sure Miss Scarlet and Rett Butler will have a picture that you can use. Also think about Gladyce Knight and her song Midnight Train to Georgia as well as Ray Charles' song Georgia On My Mind. You could have The Midnight Train to Georgia pulling into a train depot and have Miss Scarlets house on a hill over looking that depot. with Stone Mountain towering above. Hope this helps icon_wink.gif
