I am so frustrated icon_cry.gif
My husband bought me this nice kitchen aid stand mixer for my birthday. I wanted to use it especially this week to make MMF.
I am taking Wilton/course #3, so that so off I started to make MMF following the recipe from this website.
I tried my best to follow it but it end up being a disastrous sticky mess.
Probably because I did not place the marshmellows in the microwave until the mixture was hot and LIQUID. Was that the reason???Was it the brand of the marshmellows? It was all sticky with 1 pound of confectionary recipe... what happened?
Please some advice

something similar happened to me once. Did you try adding more sugar? Usually if it is too sticky there is too much water or not enough sugar. Try that and see if that helps. I just recently noticed that I get a better texture if I use Kraft Marshmellows vs. the Walmart brand. Don't get me wrong I like Walmart but Kraft comes out smoother. Hope that helps some.

The recipe I use is for 1 bag of marshmallows and 2 pounds of sugar. Are you sure you put enough sugar in?

I have made MMF from the recipe on this site using Walmart marshmallows and it worked fine. I think I had to microwave the marshmallows for longer than suggested though.

Ok, This is the part I do not understand.. How did you melt the Marshmallow then icon_confused.gif ? No matter what the outsome is, you can always fix it.
If it is too sticky, add powdered sugar, if it is too dry add water, but go easy until it comes to the texture that feels right for you. Sorry to hear your bad experience.

What I meant was that I followed the recipe with time stated in the recipe... However, the marshmallows were not melted. So that I put them back several times in the microwave. They did not melted/seemed liquid as it appears on the pictures of the tutorial.
Thanks anyway for trying to help and I think that is the goal of this website.
