I have to make an army boot for a grooms cake. I was wanting to make it very realistic. Ex. Real Laces, Tounge, right shape, etc. Any help on how to do this would be appreciated. I have only done one carved cake before and it was a polar bear so it wasn't hard at all. It was also buttercream icing not fondant.

Hi
For the laces you could use licorice laces either re or black ones. For the tounge, I would shape fondant let it harden then slip into the boot 1st then do the rest of the fondant around it.
As for shape Debbie Browns party cake book has the old women in the shoe cake and it is boot shaped. It is basically 2 squares cut stacked and shaped.
Hope this helps

Hi ShipleyC, Sorry I can't help you with how to make a boot cake. But I would like to know how you made a sculptured polar bear cake. I need to make one for my daughters graduation in May. Will you please send me your instructions to:[email protected]. Thank you.
