Hi! I am fairly new compared to most of you at cake making and decorating.

My husband suprised me with the 8" round silicone cake pans that I have been wanting....unfortunately I have had nothing but bad luck with them. When the cake cools in them they stick. When I try to take them out warm they always crack in half. I used cooking spray, oil, flour, sugar... nothing has helped! My mother-in-law just suggested putting partchment paper in them.

Is it just me or do these not work? Please someone help! My son's birthday is this weekend! I am inspired by greatness....some of the other designs in the CC gallery!!!

Help!!!

Thanks! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

I have a huge set of these that my mom bought me. It had round, loaf, muffing, and a few other pans. The set was pretty pricey. Too bad they are now in my yard sale stuff in my garage! I could NEVER get them to work properly.

I had the same problem with the one I have. It just seems to stick. Maybe there is something on the web about them.

Here you go...found this site. http://shop-silicone-bakeware.com/Blog/?cat=2

I was complaining about these to my father-in-law.... and he said let me see the pan! He told me he saw a demonstration at Wal_Mart with the same ones.... they used the new spray PAM (comes in other brands, too) WITH flour in it.

I ran to the store....It worked perfect!!!

My cake recipe was awful, but to my suprise the cake popped out with no cake crumbs on the pan at all!!!

Hope this helps you too!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

ive used them w/o problems and they have the benefit of baking the cake flatter than a metal pan would...but metal pans are definitely easier to get the cake out of. also beware when baking a dense bread in the silicon loaf pan it tends to bulge in the middle. my roommate made the craziest looking zuchini bread i've ever seen icon_biggrin.gif
