Hi All!! I am new to all of this. I was asked about making petit fours for a Ladies luncheon(got the call on Wed night, for Sat morning delivery!!). I was told there would be 35-40, they wanted to have 2 per person. The woman who called (a friend of a friend) told me to make some just plain cake and if I wanted to fill some--flavors were up to me. I quoted her a price of 75cents each for unfilled, $1 each for filled-told her I would do a mix. She didn't think it was a bad price and everything seemed fine! She just called me back, she had discussed it with the other Board members and they thought the price was too high and had decided to go to Sam's Club and get some cake there. Was I wrong on the pricing??? ??? icon_surprised.gif

Petit Fours are freakin HARD and FUSSY. You were in no way out of line! Stand firm and secure; you deserve to make at least that much for petit fours.

Thanks!! I also called the local grocery store to see what the bakery charges there. When I asked if they "baked them" I was told no, but they do have them(petit fours) there!! Frozen I guess?? Anyway, they charge $9.99 a pound!! and there are about 14 bite-size per pound!! So that comes out to 71 cents each. I was not backing down on my price, I made them before and it is a LOT of work ( escpecially with the 2 days notice they were giving me to make them!!))
