would look best for a 2 tier chocolate cake with a chocolate trasfer collar?

10" with 8" or 10" with 6"

Also how high should each tier be?

TIA for any info.

I'm just guessing that the collar is going to be some sort of fancy design. If so, I would go with the 10" and 6". This will show off your work more. I definitely would like to see a photo of the finished cake.

I going to try and do the one in the gallery by hockeymom. This will be my first stacked cake, so we'll see how it goes. icon_eek.gif

I would go with 10 and 6 as well. I like my tiers to be at least 4 inches high, sometimes even taller than that. That gives the cake a more substantial look.

Good luck and be sure to post a pic!

Thanks so much for the input. 10 and 6 it is. I'll be sure to post as soon as I make it the beginning of November.

Same here, 10 and 6 and I would do the bottom tier at least 4" tall and the upper tier maybe a little taller?? Just an idea... I really like tall cakes! icon_biggrin.gif
