Silicone Cupcake Molds From Wilton

Does anyone use these? I am curious if they work and if you like them. I see that Wilton has several designs and someone recently asked me to use the "Silly Feet" one to make some cupcakes for a kid's birthday. Just want to know what I'm getting myself into if I agree!
Thanks!
Becky
I've used some regular round ones from Kitchenaid, and I liked them for muffins and such. I bought some triangle ones from Wilton but haven't used them yet. I am kind of afraid to use them for cupcakes I sell that won't be iced on the sides, for fear that they will dry out.
I have some and when I take them to a party I'm afraid they'll get tossed. And like karateka stated, if you pop them out, you would have to ice the sides. I like the fact that you can just bake them on a cookie sheet. I only have one muffin tin so when I make a recipe I do 12 in the tin and 12 in the silicone cups. They're a little hard to clean. If I run them through the dishwasher the cake crumb that was stuck is still there, just wet. I end up washing them by hand. So take that info and use it to help you make your decision.
Hate 'em! Give me your address and I'll mail you mine ![]()
I like them for any extra batter, easy to just pour in and bake with the cake. But I'm with alanahodgson, they are really hard to keep clean.
Use the 40% off coupon if you can to try them out. That is what I did.
I love mine - they pop out so easily! And mine seem to come clean in the dishwasher.
An alternative to icing the sides once you pop the cakes out is to turn them over (before decorating) and cover the bottom and sides with melted chocolate. This makes a yummy coating that seals in the cake, keeps it moist, and tastes fantastic! Then you still get the nice look without worrying about losing your liners.
I have the triangles (my favourite), squares, hearts, and the happy feet. Now they have come out with Hallowe'en "witchy" feet ones - orange and purple with point, witchy boots!
You can also use them to mold jello jigglers.
